Social & Environmental    Responsibility

As custodians of the lands and waters of our local environment, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact. We prioritize responsible practices aimed at minimizing harm to the natural surroundings and strive to ensure that our operations leave a positive legacy for the communities we serve. This includes managing tailings and waste safely, rehabilitating lands affected by our activities, and making meaningful contributions to local communities. Our environmental approach is firmly rooted in the Mining Principles and Position Statements set out by the International Council on Mining and Metals.

Environmental Management

Our open-pit mining operations are guided by best practices in environmental stewardship, including safe waste and tailings management, progressive land rehabilitation, and impact mitigation. We align our efforts with the ICMM Mining Principles, which inform our internal environmental and climate standards, ensuring consistent performance across all sites.

Leadership and Accountability

Environmental oversight is driven by our CEO and leadership team, who integrate environmental risks into strategic decision-making. Our site teams implement these strategies through robust planning and risk management tools embedded throughout the mine lifecycle.

Biodiversity and Land Use

We are committed to achieving no net loss of biodiversity across new developments and expansions. Our plans prioritize ecosystem protection and include restoration of land affected by mining activities.

Water Stewardship

Water is a critical shared resource. Our approach focuses on efficient water use, pollution prevention, and active collaboration with local community to address water-related challenges in the regions where we operate.

Waste, Emissions, and Contamination Control

We apply strict controls to manage air emissions, waste, and contamination risks, ensuring our operations meet or exceed regulatory standards while protecting people and ecosystems nearby.

Closure Planning

We incorporate responsible closure planning from the earliest stages of mine development. Our goal is to restore sites in a way that aligns with community expectations and regulatory requirements, leaving behind a safe and stable environment.
